Eyegive
Eyelearn is unique in that a significant component is delivering teaching and training within developing countries entirely funded by a proportion of the income from Eyelearn courses. You are helping us to help the less fortunate.
Why is it important?
A child goes blind every minute
Over 1.4 million children are blind in the world with over 50% of this blindness either treatable or avoidable. 80% of the world's blind live in economically deprived countries of Africa, Asia and South America.
One of the main reasons for this is the lack suitably trained personnel in multidisciplinary teams to provide appropriate and timely eye care for children.
At Eyelearn we believe in the universal right of education for all. Our unique Eyegive facility offers technical, academic and research expertise on a non-profit basis in developing countries.
In order to contribute to the vital work needed to tackle childhood visual impairment; our multidisciplinary teachers at Eyelearn provide expertise towards sustainable programmes, which aim to develop appropriate paediatric eye care services in countries where the need is the greatest.
Eyelearn has been invited by the King Edward Medical University, Mayo Hospital, Lahore Pakistan to contribute to the development of a tertiary paediatric eye care facility.
